A Good Video About Personal Finance Blogs

Erik Folgate

I think this woman makes a good point that readers of personal financial blogs need to remember that most of us are young people trying to figure out personal finance just like our readers. I am not a professional, but I also think that many people that call themselves “professionals” have personal finance all wrong. I think there are way too many people that only crunch the numbers, but much of personal finance is the decisions we have to make that are best for ourselves and our families. You have to approach personal financial decisions with your heart as well as the calculator. My Money Blog is mentioned in this telecast. I wonder how many hits he got after that broadcast! He deserves it, though. His site has a lot of great content. Anyway, I thought it was an interesting video about the advent of personal finance blogs and how to approach reading them. My advice is to never take what ANYONE says about money without researching it yourself. NEVER invest in anything that you don’t understand. If you can’t understand the investment, then you probably don’t need to be investing in it. Be an educated consumer, and always verify information that you read and hear from other sources.
