A Year In Review And A Look Ahead For Money Crashers

Erik Folgate

2007 was a very successful year for Money Crashers. The site saw a ton of growth in terms of unique visitors and page views, and I owe it all to you all. I have great readers, and you all give great, insightful comments. Thank you to all of you that subscribe to my feed, and for those of you that read regularly, and even those that casually browse my site from time to time. If it weren’t for you, this site would not survive.

Specific Stats:

Last January, Money Crashers was drawing about 100 unique visitors per day, and currently it is drawing about 375 unique visitors per day on the weekdays.

Money Crashers has received a great deal of attention in the form of incoming links from massive blog sites such as Consumerist, Free Money Finance, and Slashdot.

What’s To Come

My goal for 2008 is to continue to increase readership at Money Crashers, hopefully to 1,000 to 1,500 unique visitors per day. But my main goal is contiue to be a resource for those you wanting to learn more about making sound financial decisions, get out of debt, and set up a plan to become a millionaire for retirement.

I am also going to start producing some audio and video podcasts in 2008. This is nothing new, plenty of bloggers are doing it, but I think it will be a nice addition to the site. I have played with the idea of unveiling some of my personal financial information for all of you to see, but I have never made an effort to keep my identity a secret on this site, so I have decided not to do that. I want people to know who I am, and I want you to become friends with me, contact me, ask me questions, and feel like you can put a face with a blog post when you read something on Money Crashers.

I would love any other input or suggestions to make this site better for 2008. Leave me a comment with your thoughts to improve the site. This site is for you and it’s about you. I try write things that are relevant to you, the reader, so I want to know what is on your mind!
