Thanks especially for the highlighting tips. In my case, I color my hair to a medium blonde, but after a long time of doing so, it just lightens and lightens. How would I go about low-lighting it to give some dimension? Would I color a little darker all over and then highlight with my current color? Thanks!

You’re an idiot. Go to the salon and pay a professional. As a professional stylist who does charge alot of money for a perfect results, I can promise you, most every step in this process is wrong… do not attempt to add lowlights yourself. Your hair is getting lighter and lighter potentially from over lapping your color (apply color to previously colored hair) but the reality is that your hair is turning out wrong. Ecause you are not a professional. For example this article says that only blonde color uses hydrogen peroxide. … all color uses hydrogen peroxide. And for eveyone… it’s color… NOT DYE!!!!

Zach, I would hope to never come to a salon where a jerk like you is working. There are nicer ways to go about correcting people when they ask a question, they obviously don’t know and need an answer, but they are not looking to be directed by some asshole that calls them an idiot.
