Room prices in most hotels are significantly cheaper on a weekday rather than a weekend. For flights, be open to flying out from an alternative airport, rather than the closest one. If you want to travel to Western Europe, the time to avoid is August (especially the first two weeks) as most people in Britain, France and Italy take their annual summer holidays then. I’m not a fan of all-inclusive holidays as to get good value from them you need to spend almost all of your time at the hotel/resort, and that’s just not my sort of holiday at all – I’m much more into independent sightseeing.
