Well, I have found that paying cash for stuff controls my spending much more than using a credit card, even if I pay it off every month. Studies have been done to show that people spend more when they use plastic rather than seeing the money go out of their hands. I'm not going to say that you are wrong for what you are doing, but I would just be careful with the snakes masked as credit card companies. if you play with them for too long, they'll bite you. They'll find a way to slap a late fee or charge you an annual fee without you knowing it. Personally, I've decided to stay away from credit cards. They are horrible financial tools.

Hi, How do you intend to accomplish your goal of not using your credit card this year? and why is it a goal? I'm curious because I use my credit card as a partial log for my spending, so I would never think to quit charging, but I also don't carry a balance as a principle. At any rate, good luck with your goals for 2007!
