Really helped to have a subaccount that was specifically used for 1 goal. It worked. By the end of the 12 months I paid off the account and didn't have to pay any money in interest. Good deal. I have multiple savings accounts setup for various saving goals. I keep them separate from my everyday spending so that I can't easily spend the money in them. It's a great way to visualize what you have saved for your longer term goals. Even if you already have enough saved up for a particular goal, it's a great way to see what you have without making it overly accessible and therefore easier to spend. I wish more banks would give the option to create these virtual savings accounts. I have to say that this is one of my favorite features of ING.
