During the summer, you will find great deals on LCD and Plasma TV’s, because manufacturers and retailers are looking to get rid of their older models to bring in new ones. As with any electronic device, manufacturers roll out a better model with more features every year to make consumers never be content with what they have. Apple does an amazing job with this tactic, and it’s one of the only things that annoys me about their company. The fact that the iPhone doesn’t have an FM radio, MMS text messages, and just recently got video playback is ridiculous. They have been adding one or two features to their iPods for the past five years, when they had the capability of adding all of the features from the beginning.

I’m going to start a series where I review a consumer product from time to time that I have had either a bad or good experience with. The posts will be under the simple category, “Reviews”.
Today’s product is the Samsung LCD Flat-Panel family of Televisions.
What I own:
I have the 40″ Samsung LN-T4042H 720p model LCD Flat-Panel Television. Samsung has dozens of current LCD models out there with varying different styles. I am assuming that they stay consistent in quality, given that I have friends with the 26″ model, 42″ model, and 32″ model.

If you walk into an electronics store this weekend, you’ll most likely see a big promotioin for sales on Hi-Def LCD, Plasma, and DLP televisions. Retailers will be putting together their final push to try to persuade you to buy a big-screen TV for Super Bowl weekend. Frankly, I think it’s insulting that retailers think we would go out and purchase a big TV just for one game that hardly ever features a good matchup. Does anyone really think that Eli Manning is going to beat The Golden Boy and New England? And by the way, it will snow in Miami before New England thinks about not playing Brady in the Super Bowl.

Are you looking for a nice 32″, 37″, or 42″ LCD TV? Vizio and Syntax are two of the best off-brand LCD TVs you can buy, based on the research that I have done. I’m going to buy either a 37″ or 42″ Syntax as soon as I have the money.
