The Holiday Shopping Season Is In Full Effect

Erik Folgate

I am back from my Thanksgiving trip, and I’m ready to weather the holiday shopping season. Did you go out for Black Friday? Did you find a great deal? I have not been impressed by the deals this year. I looked at all of the Black Friday ads, and none of them caught my eye other than the Emerson 32″ LCD TV sale for $388 at Wal-Mart. The only reason that one caught my eye is because we were looking for a no-frills 32″ lcd for to mount in our bedroom. I thought Cyber Monday might make up for Black Friday, but I’ve been disappointed with today’s deals as well. There are a few, so check out Frys.com and Newegg.com for electronics, Walmart.com for a great Xbox/Guitar Hero bundle, and Amazon.com for great watch deals. Here are some other good websites for finding a deal this holiday season.

  1. Slick Deals: It’s a decent deals aggregator
  2. Sunday Saver: Helps you search the Sunday paper ads
  3. Sales Circular: Similar to sunday saver
  4. Freight Center: helps you compare shipping costs for the item you are looking for.

Here are some headlines related to the beginning of the holiday shopping season:

  1. Black Friday Sales Better Than Expected
  2. Holiday Shoppers Focus on Bargains and Small Ticket Items
  3. Gas Prices Fall for 75th Straight Day
