Fortunately, we do have a lot of our junk (yes, junk) in a storage space, so it shouldn't be too bad to move the rest of the stuff. Though I'm definitely renting a truck this time. It's easy to accumulate some material goods after 7 years in a home. U-Haul seems to be the most affordable around here, but some of the trucks are well past their prime. I’ll probably be moving at the end of this month and am NOT looking forward to the actual moving part. Eric - yes, it's true that you can write off your moving expenses, but in order to use the deduction you have to use the itemized deductions. Some people can't come up with enough itemized deductions that go above and beyond the 5,500 if your single or the 11,000 if your married.
