It’s the only one of the four Hilton cards from American Express with no annual fee, so it suits guests who don’t stay often enough to justify paying a fee. This page also replaces our review of the Citi Hilton Honors Visa Signature Card, which ended when American Express became Hilton’s only U.S. card issuer in 2018.

Occasional Hilton guests should carry this card for their stays and the purchases that earn 5 points, and put everything else on a 2% cash-back card unless their Hilton points are worth at least 0.67 cent each. Hilton’s $150-a-year Surpass Card is the step up for guests who’d use its up to $200 a year in Hilton credits, Gold status, and the Free Night Reward it earns after $15,000 in yearly spending.
