Get the Navy Federal Flagship Premier if you’re a member who spends at least $100 a year with airlines. Its $100 airline credit covers the $95 annual fee, and the card earns 4 points per dollar on travel and 3 on dining. If you rarely travel, a no-fee card nets you more than this one does.
The Flagship Premier Visa Signature is Navy Federal’s travel rewards card for members who spend on flights, hotels, and restaurants. It replaced the Visa Signature Flagship Rewards card, which no longer takes new applications.
Key Features
- $95 annual fee, no foreign transaction fee, and a variable interest rate of 15.74% to 18.00%
- 4 points per dollar on travel, 3 on dining, and 1 on everything else
- Points worth 1 cent each as cash, deposited to a Navy Federal account or credited to the card
- A $100 statement credit every year once your airline purchases reach $100
- 50,000 bonus points, worth $500, after $4,000 in purchases in the first 90 days, for applications made by Jan. 3, 2027
Pros
- $100 airline credit more than covers the $95 fee if you spend $100 a year with airlines
- 4 points per dollar on travel booked anywhere, including rideshares, parking, and tolls
- Up to $120 every four years toward the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck, which shorten airport security and customs lines
- Lost luggage reimbursement and rental car collision coverage when you pay with the card
- Interest rates top out at 18%, including the penalty rate for paying more than 60 days late
Cons
- Only 1 point per dollar outside travel and dining
- Points worth only 1 cent each, with no option to move them to airline or hotel programs
- No airport lounge access or trip cancellation coverage
- Open only to Navy Federal members, and membership is limited to service members, veterans, Defense Department civilians, and their families
The Flagship Premier is worth getting if you spend at least $100 a year with airlines, because its $100 airline credit then pays the $95 fee. Members who rarely travel do better with Navy Federal’s GO REWARDS card, which has no annual fee and pays the same 3 points per dollar at restaurants and 2 on gas instead of 1.
