Get the OnePay CashRewards Card if you pay for Walmart+ and do much of your shopping at Walmart. It pays 5% back there with no annual fee and no cap. Everywhere else it pays 1.5%, less than a no-fee 2% card, so use one of those for your other purchases.
It’s Walmart’s rewards credit card, a Mastercard that Synchrony Bank issues for the financial technology company OnePay. It launched in 2025, after Walmart and Capital One ended their card partnership in 2024.
Key Features
- No annual fee and no foreign transaction fee
- Unlimited 5% back at Walmart’s U.S. stores and gas stations, on Walmart.com, and in the Walmart app with a Walmart+ membership linked to the card, or 3% without one
- 1.5% back on all other purchases
- $35 welcome bonus at account opening, plus 3% back outside Walmart for your first 90 days, on applications made by December 31, 2026
- 20.24% or 30.74% variable APR, the interest rate on balances you carry
Pros
- No cap on the 5%, which also applies to your Walmart+ renewal fee when the card pays it
- Points worth 1 cent each, redeemed in the OnePay app for a statement credit or a deposit to a OnePay Cash account, with a 25-point minimum
- No credit score impact from checking whether you prequalify
Cons
- Only 1.5% back outside Walmart, so it works best paired with a flat 2% card
- Purchases at Sam’s Club, or from third-party sellers in Walmart stores and gas stations, on Walmart.com, or in its app, earn only 1.5%
- 5% requires Walmart+, whose annual plan costs $98, and by our math the jump from 3% to 5% covers that fee only past $4,900 a year of Walmart purchases
- Synchrony expects only a limited number of applicants to get the lower APR
- Applicants who don’t qualify for this card are considered for the OnePay Walmart Spend Card instead, which works only at Walmart and pays no regular cash back
A Walmart+ member who spends $400 a month at Walmart earns $240 a year there with this card, $144 more than a 2% card would pay. Shoppers who rarely buy from Walmart do better with a no-fee 2% card alone, since this one pays 1.5% everywhere else.
