First Bank & Trust issues this no-annual-fee Visa, which replaced Citi’s Shop Your Way Mastercard after Citi moved those accounts into its own rewards program in November 2025. Old cardholders have to apply, and the card suits drivers and commuters, not just Sears shoppers.

Key Features

  • No annual fee; 3% foreign transaction fee
  • 5% back in points on gas, electric vehicle charging, transit, rideshares, tolls, parking, and car washes; 3% on groceries, dining, and travel; 2% at Shop Your Way merchants such as Sears and Kmart; 1% elsewhere
  • Points worth $1 per 1,000 as a statement credit (5,000-point minimum) or toward gift cards, and usable on purchases at Sears, Kmart, and other Shop Your Way merchants
  • Any welcome offer shown only after you log in to Shop Your Way
  • Variable purchase interest rate (APR) of 19.99% to 34.99%

Pros

  • No cap on the points you earn in any category
  • Statement credits at the full $1 per 1,000 points, so the points work like cash back
  • 3% on airfare, hotels, rental cars, and cruises as well as groceries and dining

Cons

  • Points expire at the close of the calendar quarter in which they turn a year old
  • Shop Your Way can change the program at any time, even for points already earned
  • Only 1% outside the bonus categories, half what a flat 2% card pays
  • Shop Your Way’s FAQ says only invited members can apply for now

Drivers and commuters who take the points as statement credits get the most from it, since $300 a month on gas, transit, and rideshares earns $180 a year here, against $72 from a flat 2% card.

If most of your spending falls outside its bonus categories, choose a no-fee cash back credit card that pays a flat 2% instead.
