Wyndham Rewards Earner® Premier Card
- Best for: Guests who book five or more Wyndham nights a year with the card and want Diamond status that lasts
- What Sets It Apart: Diamond status while the account stays open and in good standing; 30,000 bonus points each card anniversary; 30,000 more for five nights a year booked and paid with the card at Hotels by Wyndham
- Cost: $395 annual fee; 19.49% to 29.99% variable APR; no foreign transaction fees
- Features: Up to 120,000 bonus points (90,000 after $6,000 in purchases and the annual fee paid in 120 days, 30,000 after $750 at Hotels by Wyndham in 180 days); 8 points per $1 at Hotels by Wyndham; 4 per $1 on dining, grocery stores, and travel; 25% fewer points on free nights; up to $385 a year in credits for select Wyndham hotels, meal delivery, streaming, and a warehouse club membership
- Pros: Diamond status without 40 qualifying nights; 30,000 more bonus points a year than the Earner Plus for a guest who books five nights with the card; points don’t expire while the account stays open and in good standing
- Cons: $100 hotel credit limited to 5 of Wyndham’s 25 brands; meal delivery credit capped at $10 a month; nights booked through travel sites other than Wyndham’s don’t count toward the five-night bonus; phone-wallet purchases may earn just 1 point per dollar
Get the Wyndham Rewards Earner® Premier Card if you book five or more Wyndham nights a year with it, since the fifth night earns a 30,000-point bonus on top of its 30,000 anniversary points. With fewer nights, it beats the $95 Earner Plus only when its credits cover bills you already pay, such as streaming or a warehouse club membership.
Barclays issues it for frequent Wyndham guests at $395 a year, $300 more than the Wyndham Rewards Earner Plus Card.
Key Features
- $395 annual fee, no foreign transaction fees, and a 19.49% to 29.99% variable APR (annual percentage rate)
- 90,000 bonus points for spending $6,000 and paying the full annual fee within 120 days, plus 30,000 for spending $750 at Hotels by Wyndham within 180 days
- 8 points per $1 at Hotels by Wyndham; 4 per $1 on dining, grocery stores (not Target or Walmart), gas, and other travel; 1 per $1 on other purchases
- 30,000 bonus points each card anniversary, plus 30,000 for five nights in a calendar year booked and paid with the card at Hotels by Wyndham
- Up to $385 a year in statement credits: $100 at select Wyndham brands, $120 for meal delivery, $100 for streaming, and $65 for a warehouse club membership
Pros
- Diamond status, Wyndham’s top level, while your account stays open and in good standing instead of after 40 qualifying nights
- Free nights cost 25% fewer points, so a hotel priced at 15,000 points a night costs you 11,250
- Points don’t expire while your account stays open and in good standing
Cons
- The $100 hotel credit works only at Wyndham, Wyndham Grand, Dolce, Trademark Collection, and Registry Collection hotels, 5 of Wyndham’s 25 brands
- The meal delivery credit pays $10 a month at most, so the full $120 takes an order every month
- Nights booked through travel sites other than Wyndham’s don’t count toward the five-night bonus
- Purchases paid with a phone wallet or at a mobile card reader may earn just 1 point per dollar
Guests who book five or more Wyndham nights a year with the card collect 60,000 bonus points against the Earner Plus’s 30,000, and the extra 30,000 cover two nights at a hotel that charges 15,000 points. Guests with fewer Wyndham nights who won’t use the credits get more from the Earner Plus than from the Premier.
