Just the Tip:

Get the Bilt Blue Card if you rent and want your rent to earn points with no annual fee and no fee on the payment. Put your everyday purchases on it too, since what you earn on rent rises with that spending, up to 1.25 points per dollar when it matches your rent each billing cycle.

It’s the no-annual-fee card of the three Bilt cards that replaced the Wells Fargo Bilt Mastercard in February 2026, and mortgage payments earn points the same way rent does.

Key Features

  • No annual fee or foreign transaction fees, and $100 in Bilt Cash, Bilt’s credit for perks, at account opening
  • 1 point per dollar (1X) on purchases, 3X on Lyft once you link accounts and on hotels booked through Bilt’s travel portal, and 2X on flights booked there
  • No-fee rent and mortgage payments through Bilt, at 0.5X once your other card spending that billing cycle reaches 25% of the payment, rising in steps to 1.25X at 100%
  • The choice to trade those steps for 4% back in Bilt Cash on purchases, with $3 of it unlocking 100 points on rent, up to 1X
  • A variable interest rate (APR), now 26.99% to 34.99%

Pros

  • No card fee on rent, even where a landlord’s portal charges one for paying rent by card, since the portal receives a bank payment
  • Rent stays off your credit line, repaid from your bank within 24 hours
  • Points transfer one for one to most of Bilt’s 26 airline and hotel partners, such as United, Air Canada Aeroplan, and World of Hyatt

Cons

  • Only 250 points a billing cycle on rent when your other card spending stays under 25% of the payment
  • Just 1X on most purchases, versus 3X on dining or groceries with the $95 Bilt Obsidian Card and 2X with the $495 Bilt Palladium Card
  • Bilt Cash over $100 expires each Dec. 31 and can’t pay your card balance
  • No set cash value per point, so you price each redemption yourself

Renters who charge everyday purchases totaling half their rent or more each billing cycle get the most from it, earning 0.75X or better on rent. For travelers booking two-night stays through Bilt’s travel portal, a step-up card’s annual fee is worth paying, since hotel credits of $100 on the Obsidian and $400 plus $200 in Bilt Cash on the Palladium exceed their fees.
