Get the PSECU Visa® Classic Card if you carry a balance month to month and will join the credit union to get it. Its 9.90% rate is the same for everyone PSECU approves and lower than the best rate on Navy Federal’s or USAA’s low-rate card. If you pay in full each month, a rewards card earns you more.
The Classic Card pays no rewards. In its latest answers to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s credit card survey, PSECU said the card’s rate doesn’t vary with an applicant’s credit and that it aims the card at people with credit scores of 620 and up. Someone approved with a 650 score pays what someone with an 800 pays.

At simple interest, someone who carries $3,000 for a year pays about $297 here at 9.90%, against about $665 at 22.15%, the Federal Reserve’s second-quarter average for bank card accounts that paid interest. Anyone who pays in full every month gets more from a cash back card, and anyone unsure they’ll carry a balance can weigh the rate against rewards first.
