Get the Synchrony Premier World Mastercard® if you pay your bill in full and want 2% back on every purchase, applied to your statement automatically, with no annual fee. It has no 0% interest period or cell phone protection, so choose a 2% card that offers them if you’d use either.
The cash back shows up as a statement credit within two billing periods of each purchase, and Synchrony Bank sets no cap on what you earn. Synchrony’s other two Mastercards, the Plus World, which pays 1%, and the Preferred, made for building credit, come by invitation only, so this is the one you can apply for.

Pros

- A prequalification check on Synchrony’s site before you apply
Cons
- No 0% interest period on purchases or balance transfers
- No cell phone, purchase, or rental car protection

- A $1.99 fee for each paper statement showing a balance over $2.50, which electronic-only statements avoid
Cardholders who pay in full and charge $1,500 a month keep the whole 2%, $360 a year, with no fee to subtract. For a year of 0% interest on new purchases or cell phone protection, get the Wells Fargo Active Cash, which pays the same 2% and offers its 0% rate to applicants who haven’t had one in four years.
